Disaster Waste Disposal at the Disaster Area
- 31 temporary incinerators (capacity: total 4,854 tons/day) and 22 crushing/sorting facilities in Iwate and Miyagi Pref., have completed waste disposal. Approximately 1.77 mil tons of combustible wastes were incinerated in the temporary incinerators (equivalent to about 75% of the combustible wastes that generated in the 2 prefectures).
- In Fukushima Pref., some temporary incinerator and crushing/sorting facilities are still operating.
